This is not simply a voyeuristic photograph; this picture makes a statement about life on the street. This man has no place else to go. There are no public bathrooms on State Street. The only bathrooms are in businesses, and these are all locked "for customers only" places. Let's face it, the people on State Street have to eliminate just like everybody else, and if they gotta go, they gotta go.
         If the police had seen this person doing this terrible deed, guess where he would have ended up. Yup, he would have gone to jail.
         This is not an activity I photograph very often, these folks deserve at least a little bit of privacy, but I felt that this was a subject that should be addressed. Why aren't there any public bathrooms on the street?
