There is a dark side to life on the street. People in this condition are fairly common. This is despair, hopelessness, the outward manifestation of a life without any future.          Shortly after I took this picture some other folks on the street began to gather. Soon a group of eight people surrounded this poor soul to do what they could to help. The help consisted of giving a lot of water to drink and making sure the police didn't discover another drunk on the street. Arrest and jailing would surely follow.          Their care was tender and without revulsion. This was a sick person and was treated as such.
